The “Requiem without words only for orchestra” is, as the title itself says, a piece which was written only for orchestra without voices and chorus. It is grouped according to a liberal interpretation in the various parts of a requiem. The individual parts in this composition have the task of expressing an unmentioned religious text. It was written in memory of G.F. Ghedini who was the teacher and brotherly friend of the composer and in remembrance of Hermann Scherchen, the interpreter of many of his works.
