The “First Concert for Orchestra” is grouped into three movements: Allegretto, Allegro, Mosso non troppo, of which the second is a “Scherzo”.

The orchestra is made up as Mozart's instrumentation plus a piano, an English horn and a trombone. There are no essential differences in style as compared with the last work, “Diagramma Circolare”, e.g. the structure is basically counterpoint, but not rigidly following 12-tone practice although worked by and large according to it, for which reason the impression is extensively atonal.
